is this supposed to change my mind because it didn’t
why did they put a g in front of it and not a j anyway if there was a specific pronunciation that they wanted
nine times out of ten when a word starts with a g it’s a hard g
gag gun grope gallant grovel ghost grave girl govern giant
and tell me how easy it is to determine without knowing the official pronunciation before what kind of g you’re looking at without pronunciation cues
They couldn’t start it with a J, it’s an acronym. Why are people getting so cranky about this in the first place? Is it really such a big deal one way or the other?
Bullying is bad. It is the worst thing. Now lets go make fun of people who like a thing I don’t
I love George Carlin but his screed against voting seriously bothers me
“hey kids, voting is useless!” - says guy whose generation owns all the political capital and social clout in this country
The problem isn’t that One Vote Doesn’t Count, the problem is we’ve forgotten how collective action works. We’re so invested in the idea of rugged American individualism that we get angry when we realize it’s a dumb myth. “My vote DOESN’T COUNT???” —> Instead of taking that realization and flipping it into “if I work in unison with a large group I’ll get shit done,” we invest more in individualism. “I abstain from this corrupt system! I march to the beat of a different drummer! I’m not like all those other rubes who think their votes count, I’m unique, different, special!”
I mean there are times when a sole dissenting voice is important but that’s a separate issue. A single vote has never counted. One worker striking won’t accomplish anything. A single pledge won’t make or break a Kickstarter. A single letter sent to the White House won’t be noticed. One person doesn’t constitute a community.
We should all reread Horton Hears a Who, it’s a beautiful story.
I’ve often thought how much of a message it would send if everyone who doesn’t vote, voted for “3rd party” or “fringe candidates”
Obviously, all these people would vote differently, so someone mainstream would still win, but still, it would be quite the election night.
Wow, that’s like, a really dumb comparison on their part. Aside from smoking laws being in place for the protection of others, starting smoking is a personal preference, everyone has to eat.
Is all of New 52 as grim and gritty as they made Blue Beetle?
I was looking through our local recreation center magazine and this happened
I never knew Dave and John went to parties
no wait hold on I’m pretty sure those are ACTUALLY dave and john??
like the picture itself was a legit homestuck fanart. It was silhouettes of the betas dancing and the same artist did one of the trolls too.
i don’t have a source rn but i swear to god this was taken from it??
Source is here, deviantart user Lexxercise! Their tumblr is also Lexxercise, I wonder if they gave permission for this…
Oh wow, the timing on this is amazing! No, I did not give permission. Whoever made it probably just grabbed it from a GIS.
It’s a small, community publication, so I’m not angry about it or anything, but you should always ask permission to use someone else’s art no matter what the intended purpose or breadth of reach is! Not only is it respectful, but might save you potential legal trouble later on.
It’s also worth noting I didn’t do the troll version. That was someone else (whom I believed asked if it would be okay to do something similar—so considerate!).
so around august of last year my brother and I saw this at a hotel. I tweeted at them and ripped em a new one. They said they would fix it but i doubt it. :/ art theft is not cool Zumba people. jeez.
At least the other one looked like it was designed halfway competently. This just makes me sad.
They’re not even within the target age!
Casual reminder that I own the best thing ever
Haha, classic. I have this related picture:
Martian Manhunter is best pony princess.
The animators for the Dinosaurs in Jurassic Park practicing their dinosaur runs
Perfection. I have found it.
These people were living the dream.
What dinosaur is it that played basketball?
