Dan, stop being the wrong Dan!
If you don’t comprehend just how fucking crazy fast technology is progressing
I remember our first computer in the early/mid-90s had something like 250 MB of RAM and that was considered STUNNINGLY FAST.
ANOTHER INTERESTING TIDBIT: There is more processing power in a modern smartphone than the entire NASA control room handling the Apollo 13 mission.
I can eat more storage space than my whole school computer lab had.
maybe instead of complaining “not all men are like that”
you should be saying “too many men are like that”
because when you say not all men are like that what you’re telling us is that you care more about your feelings than you do about our safety
and that’s some shit right there
I would like to preface this by saying I agree with the overall message here.
However, I feel like coming from a “boohoo your feelings are hurt” angle is not the best. It’s the same sort of sentiment that is used to argue that harmful things are alright, because whatever, it’s just feelings right? Words can’t hurt you.
"Hurt feelings" can lead to a safety issue, potentially leading people down the road of self harm, or even suicide.

She’s losing by 20k votes. Let’s fix this.
After the 30th or so reblog on my dash, I finally went over to vote. Apparently she’s now destroying them. Nice work, tumblr.
Not for long. Adam has been getting ~600 every half-hour or so and if we don’t keep this up, Rose will lose.
GO TEAM ROSE FOR SPACE!
Adam’s average hourly increase has been roughly about 1.5K votes/hour, while Rose’s is slightly under 600 votes/hour.
I’m guessing that if the current trends continue, Adam will outpace Rose within 31 hours.
Leading competition just shot up by 2700 votes in the last hour! COME ON TEAM ROSE FOR SPACE!
BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST
Thank you!! Remember, folks, you can vote MULTIPLE TIMES, once every hour! We’ll definitely need that momentum all the way thru to Tuesday to make sure Rose wins!!
GOOOOOOOOO GO GO GO
the my little pony fandom is so fucking utterly trash and disgusting i can’t even stomach it half the time (i follow like TWO mlp blogs and hear about it all the time lmfao)
how a little girls’ cartoon become a haven for #rape apologists and creepy fucks and bullies and abusers i will never fucking know
I follow tons, and I don’t. Well, tons is an exaggeration, but it is most of what follow. Maybe it’s because I follow mostly RP blogs? Still, most of the people I know express their distaste with that sort of thing.
The problem is that it’s a lot easier to notice shitty people.
- STOP MAKING FUN OF BEGINNERS’ ART.
- STOP IT.
- Imagine a TWELVE YEAR OLD finding out 60,000 people are making fun of their Sonic fanart on this website!
- That’s gross.
- If you reblog screencaps of art from deviantart just to laugh at it, you are being incredibly mean.
- But worst of all, you are potentially squelching an entire generation of new artists.
- Would you have kept drawing if you found out thousands of adult artists—some you may look up to—were making fun of your art?
- No. You would have been devastated.
- These are the artists of tomorrow, and you are supposed to build them up with encouragement.
See, the thing is, a lot of people will just turn around and say “No way, if they did that to me, it would be hilarious!”
is this supposed to change my mind because it didn’t
why did they put a g in front of it and not a j anyway if there was a specific pronunciation that they wanted
nine times out of ten when a word starts with a g it’s a hard g
gag gun grope gallant grovel ghost grave girl govern giant
and tell me how easy it is to determine without knowing the official pronunciation before what kind of g you’re looking at without pronunciation cues
They couldn’t start it with a J, it’s an acronym. Why are people getting so cranky about this in the first place? Is it really such a big deal one way or the other?
I love George Carlin but his screed against voting seriously bothers me
“hey kids, voting is useless!” - says guy whose generation owns all the political capital and social clout in this country
The problem isn’t that One Vote Doesn’t Count, the problem is we’ve forgotten how collective action works. We’re so invested in the idea of rugged American individualism that we get angry when we realize it’s a dumb myth. “My vote DOESN’T COUNT???” —> Instead of taking that realization and flipping it into “if I work in unison with a large group I’ll get shit done,” we invest more in individualism. “I abstain from this corrupt system! I march to the beat of a different drummer! I’m not like all those other rubes who think their votes count, I’m unique, different, special!”
I mean there are times when a sole dissenting voice is important but that’s a separate issue. A single vote has never counted. One worker striking won’t accomplish anything. A single pledge won’t make or break a Kickstarter. A single letter sent to the White House won’t be noticed. One person doesn’t constitute a community.
We should all reread Horton Hears a Who, it’s a beautiful story.
I’ve often thought how much of a message it would send if everyone who doesn’t vote, voted for “3rd party” or “fringe candidates”
Obviously, all these people would vote differently, so someone mainstream would still win, but still, it would be quite the election night.
